Geographic Information Systems and Mapping Services

Rapid technological advances in mapping, spatial data visualization, and database technology make computer-based mapping and analysis more powerful than ever. Combining this advanced hardware and software makes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Mapping Services indispensable for environmental projects. Our GIS and mapping services use the latest techniques and technology, creating the most accurate, cost-effective mapping data for your project.

Why Use Geographic Information Systems and Mapping Services?

Maps are powerful visual tools for communicating detailed information and can convey complex concepts in ways plain text cannot match. ECORP emphasizes high cartographic quality for all project graphics.

The clarity and quality of our maps simplify communication and data sharing with:

It also enables complex dataset comparison to support project goals and incorporating existing conditions and client- or agency-defined parameters.

ECORP Geographic Information Systems and Mapping Services

Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Mapping Services are the backbones of ECORP’s environmental consulting work, linking almost all of our services to each other based on the environmental characteristics of the project.

Since its founding, ECORP has used spatial data to help its clients make informed decisions. This is why we continually upgrade our mapping, analytical, and modeling capabilities. By staying ahead of technology, we can continue to add accuracy and detail to the documentation of every environmental project with high-quality, data-rich graphical representations, directly benefiting our clients, agencies, and others.

Our GIS and mapping staff brings decades of experience to ECORP’s mapping services, including competencies with these tools and techniques:

Better Mapping with GIS

The purpose of our Geographic Information Systems and Mapping Services is to produce maps, and maps contain and require large amounts of data: the more detailed the data, the better the map. ECORP mapping staff fulfill data requirements by bringing together discrete datasets, such as regional land cover data, aerial photographs, land ownership, and special-status species locations. This base information is often enhanced with site-specific data, such as boundary and topographic surveys. We use lidar and remote sensing, unmanned aerial drones, and in-person field assessments to collect this data.

GIS Compliance

ECORP mapping products comply with the mapping standards of the U.S. Army Corps of EngineersU.S. Fish and Wildlife ServiceCalifornia Department of Fish and Wildlife, and other Federal, State, and local agencies. This compliance ensures their suitability for permit applications, report preparation, and map publication.

Environmental agencies have rigorous data and data analytics requirements for environmental permits. Our data satisfies the data criteria issued in the following regulations:
