Bat Surveys and Bat Management Services
Protecting native populations living at or near the proposed project site requires the performance of Bat Surveys And Management Services. These services identify possible impacts to native bat populations caused by construction or new land-uses and mitigation methods to reduce these impacts.
Bat Identification and Protection
ECORP has a biological resource team that specializes in the identification and protection of bats and other wildlife species. Our biologists assist project proponents by helping them get required construction permits while mitigating the impacts on native bat populations.
All of ECORP’s bat survey and management services are designed to meet the requirements of state and national environmental regulations as well as county and city ordinances.

Bat Surveys
ECORP provides a wide variety of general and species-specific habitat assessments and surveys to protect native bat populations.

Some of the surveys performed by ECORP include:
- Bridge and culvert assessments and surveys
- Tree roost surveys using a borescope camera
- Day and night roost surveys
- Maternity roost surveys
- Roost exit surveys (using night vision technology)
- Active acoustic surveys (using full-spectrum and zero-crossing bat detectors)
- Passive acoustic monitoring surveys (using using full-spectrum and zero-crossing bat detectors)
- Mist netting surveys
- Abandoned mine and cave assessment surveys
Bat Management Services
In addition to bat surveys, ECORP provides a wide range of other bat management services, including:
- Developing and implementing California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) mitigation
- Bat-related education programs
- Preparing Bat Management Plans
- Studies (including study design) in support of development projects, transportation projects, and infrastructure projects
- Impact evaluations
- Mitigation and monitoring plans
- Resource agency liaison and negotiation
