ECORP staff attended the High Desert Solar Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with our project team partners to celebrate the completion of construction and the start of commissioning! This project has been a labor of love for many of our staff for the past 4.5 years, and we are incredibly proud of ECORP’s involvement and accomplishments on this project.
It’s always great to see a project through from start to finish. ECORP did all the early environmental work, performed biological and cultural resources baseline surveys, prepared the environmental documents, helped the client find an engineer for the job, and did the regulatory permitting and much of the coordination with the City of Victorville. Prior to the start of construction, we performed biological surveys, including the translocation of seven adult and one juvenile desert tortoises, and performed cultural and biological resources monitoring during construction. We aren’t done yet as there are still some mitigation measures left to monitor, but the plant is up and running – nearly 300,000 panels supplying enough electricity for 47,000 homes for a year.
