Company Culture

VISION

ECORP’s vision is to be a trusted, employee-owned leader in environmental consulting that delivers outstanding science along with creative, effective solutions that make a meaningful difference for our clients, our staff, and the environment. We nurture joy and fulfillment in our work. We put people first. We value collaboration over competition. We reward integrity. We empower our team by encouraging independent initiative within a values-led culture of partnership.

MISSION

Our mission is to consistently deliver high-quality environmental consulting services through outstanding science and timely, creative solutions for our clients, while providing an excellent work environment for our staff.

We strive to achieve this through Our Core Values:

Fulfillment in Work

We pursue work that matters, attracting people who find meaning in environmental work. Joy in work is created when we engage in exceptional and challenging projects at the cutting edge of our fields. It arises from choosing meaningful projects over maximum profit, engaging in complex regulatory work, and shaping environmental policy. We measure success not only by dollars, but by impact, rigor, and long-term contribution.

People First

ECORP invests in its people as whole human beings and long-term contributors, not short-term resources. We hire for careers not projects and support each other through both strong and challenging times. Our strength as an employee-owned firm depends on the development, well-being, and shared success of our team. We are greater as a team.

Collaboration over Competition

ECORP operates as one firm, not a collection of profit centers competing for work. We share knowledge freely, support one another in winning and conducting work regardless of geography or technical discipline, and we align incentives around collective success rather than internal competition. As we grow, we design systems, governance, and compensation structures that reinforce unity rather than fragmentation.

Do the Right Thing

Integrity is non-negotiable. We do what is ethically and scientifically right, even when it is difficult or costly. Our credibility with agencies, clients, partners, and each other is our most valuable asset. We present accurate science, honor our commitments, correct our mistakes, and decline work that conflicts with our ethics and standards. Integrity is not situational; it defines who we are and how we operate.

Self-Determination

We are an independent, employee-owned firm accountable to our shared values and to one another. Ownership is both a privilege and a responsibility. We make long-term decisions that reflect our values and protect our culture, our scientific credibility, and our financial sustainability. We choose independence, not out of tradition, but because it allows us to lead with purpose. Independence gives us the freedom to adapt and evolve in alignment with our shared values, building enduring success for future employee-owners.

Values-Led Partnership

Our culture was built on a foundation of trust, relationships, and thoughtful consensus. As we grow, we anchor these strengths in clearly defined roles, empowered leadership, reflective deliberation, and principled decision-making. We seek input, respect diverse perspectives, and then act with clarity and consistency. We are guided not by personalities, but by these shared values that enable strong leadership and long-lasting stewardship.
