City of Roseville’s Open Space Preserves
Since 2000, ECORP has provided technical assistance to City of Roseville staff in the management of each open space area on an on-call basis. ECORP has provided City of Roseville staff with assistance for number of preserve related tasks, including;
Conducting creek and open space maintenance training for creek maintenance, street maintenance, and park maintenance staff, focusing on why open space is preserved, what protection is in place for open space, general preserve management issues, and the identification of invasive weeds.
Assisting with turnover of preserve ownership from developers to the City of Roseville.
Assisting with the appropriate placement (i.e., avoidance of biological resources) of power poles for two major electrical lines within preserve areas.
Providing general permitting assistance.

Recommending appropriate remediation for disturbed areas, negotiated with federal agencies regarding these activities, and conducting monitoring of the remediated areas.
Coordinating of removal of non-native, invasive weeds species.
Assisting with coordination of goat grazing for habitat management, thatch reduction, and fire prevention.
Providing information on appropriate native plantings for enhancement of preserve habitat values.
Working with City of Roseville staff regarding private land owners adjacent to preserves to help ensure proper protection of the nearby preserves.
