Placer Vineyards Specific Plan

ECORP Consulting, Inc. was retained by the Placer Vineyards Owners’ Group to conduct technical studies and resource mapping and to compile technical studies and resource mapping prepared by others relevant to natural and cultural resource assessment, impact assessment, and permitting for the 5,000 acre Placer Vineyards Specific Plan in Placer County, California.

ECORP’s mapping department is responsible for compiling resource maps for 24 separate participating properties (comprising approximately 4,200 acres) and required off-site infrastructure improvements into a comprehensive resource map to support environmental analysis under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA), and to support resource permitting through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, NOAA Fisheries, the California Department of Fish and Game, and the Regional Water Quality Control Board. ECORP prepared several, and compiled the 24 separate permit USACE permit applications into a single and integrated permit application submittal package.

ECORP biologists have conducted wetland delineations, habitat characterizations, protocol-level surveys for vernal pool invertebrates, rare plants, and other special-status species, and are currently compiling these data into a comprehensive Biological Assessment to support Section 7 consultation. ECORP biologists and environmental specialists are supporting Placer County’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR) consultant with impact assessment and mitigation definition regarding biological resources. ECORP’s mitigation design and open space management specialists will be responsible for planning and implementing habitat enhancement, wetland construction, and long-term maintenance and monitoring for on-site preserve areas and some of the off-site mitigation properties.
