ECORP presenting The Effects of Seasonality on CRAM Scores for Vernal Pools at CNPS 2012 Conservation Conference, in San Diego January 10-14th

Debra Sykes will be presenting a poster and symposium presentation titled "The Effects of Seasonality on CRAM Scores for Vernal Pools" at the 2012 California Native Plant Society Conservation annual conference, in San Diego, January 10th -14th. California Rapid Assessment Method (CRAM) has been used by ECORP staff to cost-effectively quantify wetland conditions. Because the limited timeline within which surveys are recommended for vernal pools poses a constraint to planners, the intent of this study by Debra and four ECORP collaborators was to determine whether seasonality has any effect on CRAM scores. The study concluded that for vernal pools in Sacramento County, differences occurred between seasons but were largely within the expected range of variation.
